After hundreds of years of combined experience in designing, building and cruising yachts on the open ocean, Fleming Yachts are bringing to you what will be the ultimate of cruising yachts. A brand new design from the keel up. The Fleming 85.
Fleming have always strived to design and build literally the finest possible ocean going pilothouse motor yachts in every respect. With true ocean crossing range the Fleming 85 will take you anywhere you want to be in the world, in total comfort, grace and peace of mind.
From the renowned naval architects of Norman R Wrights and Sons the hull is designed to be the most efficient and most beautiful semi-displacement hull on the water.
Building on their experience, Fleming have made extensive use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to fine tune the hull design and ensure it is absolutely the most efficient it can be, having the best possible behavioural characteristics in all sea states.
Composite engineers have designed the optimum strength/weight ratio of the structure, Fleming retaining the traditional robust construction you would expect – but it is achieved with less weight and is all verified by DNV. The hull design and engineering will result in the best fuel economy and range for any semi displacement boat in the world. The absolute highest specification of equipment available as standard and installed the Fleming way, with redundancy and access for maintenance in mind.
The new F85 also comes in two different versions for two varying consumers. For those who prefer the wind in their hair, the traditional style Fleming open flybridge is available. Or alternatively, the second variation sees the pilothouse moved to the upper deck where it is fully enclosed, but still outfitted like a Fleming pilothouse should be. Down below more space is opened up for flexible dining and entertaining.
The lines and the look of this vessel are unmistakably classic Fleming. Furthermore the exterior details have been refined and simplified to create a cleaner look with flush and hidden hardware throughout. As we move inside, various options are again available, from traditional to contemporary. However it is important to note that the design is always elegant, warm, comfortable and practical with double glazing as standard featured throughout, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.
the F85’s foredeck features hydraulic and electric Maxwell windlasses, Ultra anchors and s/s chain. This area of the vessel is also equipped with huge storage lockers for all shapes and sizes of gear and a neat fold away seating alcove proves the versatility of this cruiser.
The multifunctional flybridge deck comes equipped with everything you need for cruising, entertaining and relaxing as well as space for a 17 foot tender that can be launched on either port or starboard sides via the 2000lb crane.
Moving to the yacht’s aft deck, raised and sheltered seating and dining for 10 with all of the amenities you could need can be found here. The deck also features sheltered gull-wing door access to the engine room and crew’s quarters below .
The cockpit is easily accesible, and another well designed area of the vessel, with ample storage for all the dive gear and fishing equipment you may need and warping winches to help load and unload.
The F85’s swim platform is expansive enough for all uses and the hydraulic lowering option makes the loading of additional tender easy, this multipurpose area of the vessel also being useful for PWC storage and launching. The addition of multiple side boarding gates make accessibility from fixed or floating docks easy and safe for all.
The F85 from Fleming can be shipped in 4 different interior layout options, catering for either a 3 or 4 cabin accomodation layout or a twin/single cabin crew quarters layout.
Fleming really seem to have thought of everything here, with the rewards of their rigorous design process easy to see. This multifaceted vessel certainly an exciting prospect, Fleming Yachts delivering once again here with the F85.
Hull #1 of the F85 from Fleming Yachts is now under construction and we await its completion with bated breath.
