Heesen Yachts launch project FALCON

The 60m/197ft luxury yacht PROJECT FALCON from Dutch shipyard Heesen touched water for the first time last month.

Omega Architects produced her sinuous exterior appearance, adding a characteristic ‘bird’s wing’ motif to the main deck, bridge deck and sundeck while retaining the horizontal flow of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Sinot Yacht and Architecture Design decorated the interior spaces, which flow effortlessly with the outdoor social areas. Custom-built furniture and lighting complement the range of materials that make the welcoming and elegant surroundings: Rare wood varieties and veneers, high-quality fabrics and leathers, bespoke metal and glass. Guests within the climate-controlled interiors have the benefit of sweeping views and a flood of natural light thanks to lowered bulwarks.

The Owner worked with Heesen to further customise superyacht PROJECT FALCON, including a reception on the sundeck to welcome guests arriving via the helipad, and there are two tender garages to store all of the tenders and water toys: The forward garage has gull-wing doors, and the aft garage has a shower and day head for guest convenience.

Other features include a glass elevator connecting all decks, and underwater lights that will add a mysterious and inviting glow to her appearance after dark. The service areas ensure that the crew of 15 and staff of four can go about their duties quickly and discreetly.

The accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests over 6 well-proportioned staterooms, which include a private apartment for the Owner on the bridge deck aft.

The naval architecture features a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) for excellent stability as well as efficiency through the water. A pair of MTU 12V 400 M65L diesel engines produce a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots, at which she has a range of 4,200 nautical miles.

M/Y PROJECT FALCON will now remain at the shipyard for commissioning, then cruise to Rotterdam on her way to her sea trials in the North Sea. Delivery is expected before the end of the year.
